Using a Router and Want to Host Games

guys, i have a friend who has DSL which is connected to the router which is connected to the computer...everything works fine...but for some reason people can't join his games that he host...i suspect the router has something to do with it...but then again, i'm not 100% sure, so that is why i'm came here to ask you guys, is there a fix to this

You may be in violation of your terms of service by hosting servers of any kind.
If you are not allowed to host servers and you are, you will be caught and may lose your dsl.



If not, put the server in the DMZ. It should be under the router's config to specify an ip address.Put in the internal address of your server.

You don't want to use DMZ if at all possible. Find out what ports the game uses and forward those to the IP of your game server.

Some DSL and Cable providers will block ports before it even gets to the premesis. You will have to check with the DSL provider for info on blocked ports.
