When i took my ultra-d out to put in an xp-120, I took the cooler off the x700 to put as5 on it, I noticed that the 2 holes that bracket it are the same size as that of standard northbridge coolers, my question is whether the zalman northbridge cooler will provide enough cooling for the core?

Are you giving us mixed signals? There just isn't a "Northbridge" that presents the kind of cooling challege that any cpu faster than maybe 166 MHz offers. A "Gpu" is what is running an X700 VGA card, not a Cpu!

I'm going to point and laugh if you use the Zalman on your x700.. If you do, take pictures and temps for us!

My suggestion would be a Zalman vf-700Cu.. Quiet with nice performance.
