Using a CDRW Disc on Dell Laptop CDRom

I have a CDRW disc from my desktop that can't be read with my standard Dell CDRom drive. I've installed the UDF reader from Adaptec or whatever but it still won't read.

Any suggestions? Patches?? Thanks.

most cd-roms CANNOT read cd-rws because they are MUCH lower reflectivity than normal cds (and even lower than cd-r's)...it does not surprise me that you cannot read it.

i'm afraid you're out of luck

Actually, most CD-ROMS from the past 4 years CAN read CD-RW's. It's called Multi-Read capability and nearly every drive has it. But... laptops always lagged behind. You don't say how old that laptop is.
