On my 2405, the HD channels look great thru component, the digital channels decent, and the standard def TV channels....well, meh.

Should look great, just make sure to set it to 1:1 and give it a little bit of viewing distance room if you're going to use it like a TV. Otherwise it might look a little bit pixelated/grainy. The 27" runs at 1920x1200 so the pixel pitch/density might cause the image to look a bit funny if you view it from normal PC distances.

Ok people praise 42"+ screens with 1366x766 resolution and .870 pixel pitch as great TVs, but you have to sit farther back from a 27" PC monitor with 1920x1200 and .303 pitch or else it will look pixelated/grainy?

Yeah..........

I don't really get that at all. The 30" is .250mm and the 24" is .270mm. The most common 4:3 19" 1280x1024 panel that most Anandtech users probably have (e.g. 1905FP), has a .294mm pitch, but nobody has ever complained about pixelation before...

If you want to pick on pixel pitch, how about me whining that there isn't a LCD with .22mm pitch so I can ditch my 21" F500R CRT. :D
