Hey,

I'm running a tbird 1.0 @ 1133 right now, and I'm using a 250W PS..

this is what I have running on the comp:

epox 8kta3
256mb pc 133 @ cas2
2 HD
1 floppy
1 gf2 GTS 64mb
1 ethernet card
1 CD burner
1 sb live

my monitor, and a few USB devices.

now, someone was telling me i have bottlenecked my system with a 250W PS..I said no I'm not..i mean if it all runs fine, how would adding more Watts make it better?

Wich is what I am asking now..adding 50W == better performance?

Thanks

No, not unless you're noticing system lockups. All it will do is provide more power. Period.

the PS isnt like a car engine. More horsepower in a PS wont give u faster speeds.

A bigger PS would only give you more stability, If you aren't having random lockups, then you are OK.

No, not unless your getting intermitant re-boots/crashes. Look at your motherboard monitoring software and see what your agp/sys. voltages are.

I do get random lockups, especially in games..

i have 1.85v for the cpu and 1.5v for the agp

Then you may see a difference. With the hardware you've got, unless it's a really nice 250W PS, you do have the possibility of problems. AMD recommends a minimum of a 250W. Always good to be on the safe side!:)

taking the car analogy, it is like have a bigger gas tank. i've got a 350W sparkle, not really because i need it, but for the peace of mind.
