using a 20-24 pin power adapter

Im building a little system on a Nividia 6100 mobo that has a 24 pin power connector. I have a antec 430 true power PS on hand that has a 20 pin connector...Anybody really see any harm in just using a 20-24 pin adapter vs. having to go out and buy another PS with a 24 pin connector. I will be using the onboard graphics..not adding a pic-e graphics adapter.

There is a thread about all this here. I've built systems with 24 pin connectors using 20 pin PS's with no adaptor and no problems.

Supposedly there is the possibility of getting the wires too hot with the adaptor in place. Drawing more current that the rail was intended to provide or something.

Read that thread. It'll be helpful.
