I have a VCR connected to the s-video in on my eVGA GTX

How do I make the computer screen display the movi, or copy the movie to my hdd? My family has some videos that we have recorded over the years on a camcorder and we'd like to get them on to DVD through this if possible.

Any help is appreciated as Im totally new to VIVO

Did any software come with your 7800GTX? and the VIVO cable with a junction box on it?
Usually the vendor will ship the vivo card with some version of capture software on a CD.
Check it out.

There should be some WDM drivers to install in addition to the regular graphic drivers as well. here may be additional software rquirements as well.

You should be able to start up the software, pick your input for capture. Start up your VCR and you should see the video in a preview window if all is properly setup.

WDM drivers and a software program such as Virtual Dub or CapTV. You of course need to tell the software which input you are using. Hope that helps. I love VIVO;)

Windows media format is not WDM drivers even if they share some common letters like "W" and "M". WDM drivers are required to enable your video capture. Check your driver readme files and installation tips.

Now, if you start your VCR playback, if everything is properly connected, you should see video or at least you VCR menu.

Have you rebooted since installing thew WDM drivers? Are they actually installed (can you see them listed in device manager?)

you need to use WDM drivers that came with your nvidia drivers CD...should be version 4.something

after you install them..it'll ask for you to reboot

after you reboot, it'll say new hardware found and ask if u want to install it

say yes, and say do it automatically

it'll do it and it should be operational after that

you can verify if it was done correctly by going to ur device manager and looking under "sound, video, and game controllers"

they should be called...something nvidia a/v crossbar...and something nvidia capture device or something

dont remember the exact names cuz im at work, but thats the process. after that, the software should find it automatically, if not...manually choose it

make sure you have the video out on the vcr plugged into the correct video in cable on the video card

also, make sure whatever software you are using is set to capture from "composite" instead of "s-video" as its source

that being said, the 7800 gtx's vivo sucks. i miss my ati vivo :(

I am having 1 wierd issue.

Every time I restart it says there is no capture device. I go to "device manager" and there is an excalation point next to the WDM Decoder or whatever. If I uninstall and reinstall it its seems fine, but its back every time I restart.
