Hello guys. I had another post asking about whether or not an old 540 studio from Dell could play recent games with a simple graphics card upgrade. And some of you guys suggested the gtx. 750 ti. I just wondered if this would work without upgrading psu or needing better cooling for the motherboard? Ect. It looks like 300watts is all that's needed but won't that push my psu to its limits? Has anyone heard of someone trying this card in a stock 540s?

In my experience Dell has been pretty good about under-rating their power supplies. It should be fine.

My searches on your model show a 300 watt power supply for that Dell. I don't know that it could support a dedicated video card, although the 750 does not draw too much power.

You may just have to go ahead and try it with what you have, and go from there.
