Using 2Wire DSL Filters question

Curious, as Ma Bell didn't send out a technician for my DSL, I'll need to get a filter myself. Has anyone installed these 2Wire (2Wire.com) filters? With my previous DSL installation, the filter was installed at the terminal (I think), and I didn't have to have a filter for every damn device. So, I can just plug my DSL modem directly into any jack, and use the filter for my phone, and I should be good, right?
