users very slow / hang during logon.

Just installed a new w2k/sp4 server into a 5 user network. When users try and logon to the domain there XP stations hang on the ?loading your personal settings? screen anywhere from 5 to 10min. If I logon locally no problem. I thinking this must be some type of profile issue, anyone come across this?
