Hi,

It seems like i am getting more action in the user settings area and would like to put a stop to it.

Lots of language related junk.

Lots of programs trying to phone home.

I have Windows XP Pro through SP2 on this PC with all the updates..

I Have and run AVG Free, CCleaner, Spybot, Adaware, Comodo, etc., none are showing a problem, but.. something has went wrong and I am concerned.

System Specs:
Socket 939 Opteron 185 2 2.7 vs. 2.6 and running at 42 idle 46 full load with Zalman 9700 cooling it in Gigabyte Aurora Case with Enermax Infinit PSU.
Asus A8R-32-MVP
GeForce 7900 GTX with latest NGOHQ 1.6369 driver
2 GB Mushkin Redline just passed Memtest three straight runs last night
Dvcio Fusion HDTV tuner card with latest 1.63.01 driver
Will come back and print out from hijack this.

Any ideas?

this was meant as a more general question.

This has happened on almost all of my more complicated installs.

My installs have been limited to Windows XP or Vista Home Premium.

All have at least 2 GB of memory and more than one hard drive.

Typically I have one hard drive for the OS

one hard drive for programs and games

one hard drive for data

Page files set up on all hard drives.

I am just looking for some general ideas.

Sometimes, some games without our consent load crap besides the game and this probably accounts for part of the issues.

I sometimes load things like dosbox or other programs and drivers to be able to play older games and this could cause issues too.

Thanks for chance to clarify what I am looking for..

Procedures... what to do besides setting restore points along way and uninstallilng and restoring prior to loading program or game that caused problems.

I have noted that some programs don't entirely go away after I remove them and do a system restore to point prior to when I installed them..

so.. just looking for ideas on how to improve the way I install the programs and games after i have installed windows and for any programs or procedures to follow that might be good to correct any issues that come up and get the whole system running stable.
