User restrictions in Win2K ?? Any net admins..

For the network administrators?

At work we are changing over from Win98 to Win2k for all our workstations. All of the images we have used have had policy editor (Win98) configured to limit local users (2-3 users per workstation with different settings on each).
All the servers are running NT server and will change over Win2k server at a later date after the workstations. Here is the problem, the group policy snap in applies to all users on a workstation and since we are not running 2K server, it will not work with having different settings for different local users.

Is there a way or a tool to allow different local settings / different users on a Win2k workstation to the same degree as Win98 poledit? Can poledit work in Win2K?

Any help, info or links will be appreciated

You can have local policies on the 2k WS, but they get overwritten by every other policy (unless you specify not)that gets implemented, so you have to watch as you add polices to the sites/domain/OU's.

Without looking, i dont know if that will do what you need it to.

We need it set up for different local settings / different users on the same Win2k workstation.

Anyone?

Are all of the computers on a domain? I am not sure what you are asking but i think you can do everything with a win2k domain.
