I have set up one user profile, but I now want to copy that profile to a large number of users. Is there a simple way of doing this, other than copying and pasting the profile to each user.

yes we're using roaming profiles from the server to client PCs.

Just clarifying, it wasn't very clear in the first post
 
Yes you can copy the profile so when people log on they get a default network profile.you can setup their computers to do a local or roaming.if you leave it to local any changes they make to the profile will be saved locally.copy the profile to netlogon folder of the server that handles your loggins. the next time a user logs on they will get the profile.
