Thats just ONE thread! This is absolutely over the line and contains many unprovoked personal attacks. THIS is why we continue to see threads about the lack of respect for moderators. We have users being banned for calling other users 'ass' unprovoked and this is somehow acceptable?

I can troll with the best of them, and I've made my own share of personal attacks. It happens in a political charged and emotional environment like P&N is. Occasionally I was banned for them when I took it too far.. I own up to that and accept responsibility for that. How this can be seen as acceptable though is completely beyond me? Perknose is practically frothing at the mouth here.. He is completely out of control.

Please note I am NOT involved in this thread in any way.. The attacks on the OP here are just over the line and I think it should be discussed on why this is being allowed. I'm sure I'll be attacked or insulted for posting this, but I am being completely serious on this. This is just taking things too far.

This is Derek's call. He is the one who should act on this if you don't get satisfactory action from our mods. The only thing I can do is lock the thread which I will do now.

I'd like to stay on topic here. You've crossed the line and took a political discussion and made it personal. Regardless of the original posters intentions, his honesty, his truthfulness, your attacks in that thread cross the line. You can respond without the personal attacks on him and others in the thread.

Of course my outrage is selective. If I point out the cases and ask why moderators aren't acting, I'll be banned for moderator callout.

But I am trying to keep this civil. Can you keep your personal attacks out of here PLEASE? I know we have had our differences in the past. But you are crossing the line here and I think your anger is getting in the way of you being able to see that.

As others have said in other threads, the moderation is at best confusing, and at worse completely uncomprehensible. You mention you could post 10 people who have posted the same level of things.. How about if I offer up 10 others who have posted much less worse and gotten banned?

Moderators should at least not be BREAKING the rules themselves.. you are expected to be setting the standards here, not the low end.

Can you please just stop with this crap? I'm trying to keep this discussion on topic and not have it degernate into name calling. I've been fair in what I posted. I admit that I engage in some of the same things I see Perknose doing. However I have been repremanded when I crossed the line.

Is it so important for people to win these political arguments that they can't even see when they are taking things too far? Some name calling and trolling happens from everyone from both sides from time to time. This is just taking it to an anger level I have not seen often.

No, not at all. The person being attacked is not complaining.. and the person being attacked I have never seen engage in anything even remotely approaching this level of hostility. He is routinely attacked and insulted and nothing is done about it. Now its a moderator doing it and I think it sets a seriously bad example and is obviously breaking the rules.

This isn't about me. I think the OP is being unfairly personally attacked because of his political views. Regardless if people disagree with him there should be at least SOME sort of mimimally accepted behavior, especially when the OP has NO history of such attacks himself.

I agree Bush moved the date originally, but like others have said, don't really care. It should be on 9/11 period.
