User is constantly evading bans by changing idents, what can you do to stop this?

If i remember correctly the "*" can be used as a wildcard such as *@*.145.267 would block anyone in that ip block i dont know his provider but you can always do use his provider the same way such as just need to keep looking at his whois and find something that NEVER seems to change. At least I THINK this can be done if i remember correctly when i used to do it alot

But like scottdog pointed out yea proxies you might as well just put the room on +m and voice everyone else haha or maybe +i

ident was the one before the ip right? Like ident@IP? Wouldn't you just ban *@IP? IIRC, that's how I used to do it in my IRC days

But if his ip is changing also he can still get back in either way using the wildcard he'll end up banning a range of ip's

Simple to ban him if only his ident is changing. Just /mode #channel +b *!*@adsl-204.125.88.*.jan.bellsouth.net (or whatever).

you can only ban so many things. If he really wants to, he can get around anything you do short of hacking his computer and formatting his hard drive, which would only temperary heh
