User files private in XP?

I remember before that in the event that my computer wouldn't boot, I would connect my HDD to a friend's PC, boot into his own XP installation, and from My Computer, try to gain access to my HDD.

After going into my HDD, I would go to x:\Documents and Settings\My Username, but an error message would appear saying that this folder is private or something, and wouldn't let me go into it to access my data.

Where is the option in XP to make my account not private anymore? My computer works fine, but it would be good to not have my account private so if I do need to access my account files from a friend's PC, I would be able to.

Go to the Docs and Settings folder. Right-click the username and go to Properties. Select the Sharing tab. Uncheck 'Make this folder private' option. Click OK.
