User cannot send email - Exchange reports quota exceeded

We have a user on our domain that has trouble sending email. Occassionally the email cannot be sent and Outlook claims that it is because he is over quota. But the user account has no quota limitations on it. The problem has persisted between different exchange servers (we have 6) and over multiple laptops. Anyone ever see anything like this? Thanks.

I have seen that in cases where the user fails to empty his or her POP3 box.

I have used it intentionally to block all email when on a trip or extended absence just by sending myself a humongous file and then leaving it there on the POP3 server. :)

There are two places you can look for quotas. One is in Active Directory and the other is on the actual exchange database. You may want to check that they both are not set.
