Really awesome deal for those that are not super heavy downloaders that don't need an unlimited plan. No site can beat this price, Astraweb charges $25 for 180GB and blocknews charges like $90 for 1TB. If you want to just check out usenet without paying for anything then just do the free trial that newsgroupdirect offers then cancel it before it charges you, then you can add the 1TB block to your account tomorrow for $50.
Link below for this deal, remember it starts tomorrow August 9th so you won't see the $50 price until then:

Details:
We're getting ready to have our next Terabyte Tuesday event tomorrow, August 9. The sale is very similar to what we've done before, 1 Terabyte (1000 GB) usenet block accounts for only $50. Sale runs from 12 AM EST on August 9 until 12 AM EST on August 10.
They have ran this promo a few times so far this year. Here are links to the threads that were posted for this same deal back in June and July, they received many replies and thumbs up. If you have questions about usenet or want to know what people are using or whatever then go to the threads below and read through them since just about everything has already been posted in the 2 threads below already:

For those people that already know about Usenet you can ignore the following below:
Once you figure out usenet, you'll probably never go back to torrents, I only use torrents now from time to time. You cannot beat the speed and privacy of usenet.
Here are all the links for the Usenet guides I found helpful when I wanted to learn about it. Read through them all and you should have a good grasp of how it works and everything. If you need help to get started or can't figure something out just post a reply in this thread or PM me.

My Advice:
To get started, the first thing I would do is go download the free client Sabnzbd and try it out. If you don't like it the best free alternatives are Unzbin and Binreader, but Binreader does not work right with SSL for newsgroupdirect. All of these programs are Newsgroup/Usenet clients, just like utorrent is to bittorent or jdownloader/IDM is to the file uploading sites like Rapidshare/Filesonic/etc. Unzbinis extremely simplistic but it works decently (great for noobs), Sabnzbd is more complicated but it's the best. Some people don't care for it though because the only way to access it is through the web, since it is a Python server. Play around with it and read the wiki manual for Sabnzbd so you understand how it works.

Next, you should create accounts on nzbmatrix and nzbsrus. For free accounts they limit the number of nzb's you can download per day and the retention time but you can still download fine. If you like usenet it is worth paying the $10 or so fee to become a VIP member for nzbmatrix that way there are no restrictions, that is what I did and nzbmatrix is the only site I use.

Must have very helpful programs for usenet:
Firefox extension for sabnzbd is very handy, definitely grab this:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nzbdstatus/
Another must is NZB completion checker, so you never have to worry about downloading a NZB off usenet then finding out it is incomplete and can't be extracted:

As far as a usenet provider goes, the above deal is great for a first time starter since you only have to pay $50 and you can download 1TB of whatever. But if you're a really heavy downloader then I would suggest the $10 a month Astraweb plan or the $10 a month usenetserver plan. I've read several postings in forums where people that have usenetserver as their provider say they split the plan with a friend so it comes out to $5 a month per person. Most providers do not allow 2 IP's to be connected at the same time from the same account, but apparently usenetserver is relaxed. If I decided to go with an unlimited plan it would probably be usenetserver as my 1st choice with Astraweb as my 2nd choice.
To get those $10 a month unlimited plans go to the below link, you have to go through the promo links from the link below in order to get the prices mentioned above, if you go directly to the websites you won't see those prices.
