Useful Standards Site for Web Developers

Sheesh. Thing honestly looks like justification for not using any of those things.

It ain't the best looking design I've ever seen. In terms of functionality I'm just not sure I get it. You go there, it tells you your IP, and reports what browser you're using and what it's capabilities are. It's briefly interesting, but doubt whether it has any long-term utility.

If the poster had been a new account I probably would have considered this spam, since posting just to solicit traffic for another site makes the Matrix unhappy.

The litmus (second link) is actually pretty useful as long as its updated regularly.

That's just it though, you can't be sure whether it's being updated regularly. The author doesn't cite any sources, and the site isn't reputable enough to be blindly trusted. There are other litmus lists out there (there's are several in wikipedia I think) that would be better to use IMHO.

These lists are really just a curiosity anyhow; you still need to test in every target browser. They might all support a feature, but there could be quirks with their implementation or they might all handle a coding mistake with that feature differently.

true.. it could be a nice quick reference if the 2nd link is updated. I got it from another web developer and though i'd pass it on. You're right, it doesn't substitute for testing things yourself either.
