I love customization in videogames - cosmetic or otherwise - but I'm never going to pay extra for it. That said, I'm glad that you like your new knife.

Glad you enjoy it. Something some people don't understand about free to play games needing some money spent for them to continue.

cs:go is not free to play, and even then, I perfectly understand that this is the only way to have a game not be pay-to-win, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to spend money on skins. I'd rather not play at all and stick to free or pay-once stuff, especially because free-to-play games inevitably go offline or start milking the userbase by turning into pay-to-win games in order to try and get money for a few more years before dying. Luckily there's other people spending money for me.

Sometimes stupid things can still be worthwhile if they bring joy into our lives. Especially if it makes you happy and it only cost a few bucks...

I've spent more than 240$ on RIOT points for League of Legends. I feel like an idiot now cos I rarely play that game. And to think I paid that much for a free to play game.

I think I paid $600 for World of Tanks... about as much for Rift.

Haven't spent on WoT in quite a while though, at least you can just enjoy playing for free eventually. WoT guy is now a billionare, hm.

Developers for Clash of Clans are multi-billionaires from this strategy. At my last job, I worked with people who would dump $300 - $500 per paycheck into that game without thinking twice.

I've spent more than 240$ and still bronze 5.
Jokes what rank are you? I think LoL hit $1bill from selling skins. Not sure if that's true though.

I think i paid like 500 euros on the RMAH for D3.

I stayed in B5 for a long long time. Managed to get to Silver 3 the previous season and quit afterwards due to the innumerable changes that kept getting incorporated. I simply don't have that much time.

I've spent at least $600 on Star Trek Online, mostly buying new ships. But that's spread out over more than 2 years of playing it. I've played more hours than for at least 5 typical AAA games.

I can afford it and I've had fun. I regret nothing.

I have spent well over a $100 on POE over 4 seasons, MTX effects for skills etc.
Considering what a takeout meal can cost and the time I have played and still play it, no regrets at all.

If I found a nice skin for one of my favorites, I might pay up to a few bucks for it. Ill just get a cofee at mobil instead of dunks, but otherwise I never got the appeal of skins. This isnt a new mentality for me either, back when TF2 was legitimately a hat simulator, I never bothered trying to get/make any.

What about all those people that dropped 10s of gs on gear in Diablo 3 from the Real Money Auction House that gets obseleted after every update? Now that was sad.
