Used three pin fan on two pin board

I used a p3 fan in place of a celeron fan, and the puter will not boot. Did I fry the board?

This should work fine. The third pin is just for fan RPM monitoring. Did you use the correct two pins? Red is +12V, black ground and blue is for the fan speed. Did you use the red and blue instead?
