Used R9 290 vs GTX 970

Also one other reason to choose the 970 is that it has full DX12 compatibility, whereas the 290 has partial support.

The prices quoted are what the OP post found. Yes you can find cheaper but we are talking about the quotes from the OP.

Secondly not really a big deal that is has DX12 comparability there are no games that support it and I don't see any games in 2015 that will be DX12. When we start seeing DX12 game nv will already be on a next gen product.

So right now it just a checkbox feature on the side of the box.

If you're going to pay $200 extra bucks for some wishy-washy "build quality" justification, then you deserve to be out $200 for at most 10% more performance

it wouldn't be so bad if they keep the bad decisions to themselves. when they start recommending to people asking for advice on their buying choices :twisted:
