Hi, I'm in the process of building a "briefcase" size system for LANing. Looked at my "case", think I've got room (with mods,of course) to install a 14-15" LCD. Does anyone have an idea where I can find either a used or a (decent) refurb?

they are extremely difficult to get your hands on, they sell out fast. Online is not the way.

viewsonic has some - but they don't seem like a deal to me.. Since the refurbs come from the factory and the factory can't undercut retailers on current models, you are probably looking for discontinued models. Good luck.

Be weary about refurbs. Most refurbs are returned monitors that had problems, and were (hopefully) fixed, however many still have problems. I have 2 refurbished KDS monitors; both have some problems. One flickers for about 30+ seconds when I turn it on before it becomes a steady image, the other is just a little blurrry in general. New monitors are the way to go (usually better warranty, better quality, they last longer...)
