I just got a used T21 Thinkpad off of Ebay for 450... Just wondering if anyone had any experiences with thinkpads in general, and in particular, the T21. Thanks Guys.

I have a T20 700 mHz. The T20 is a sturdy, high quality unit. It fits my away from home computer needs, MS Office, playing mp3 and video files, surfing the internet, and email. The battery holds a two hour charge.

I use Thinkpad T22's at work (mobile P3/933). Really only use it for business, but I can tell you the screen is outstanding even though it's 2 years old.

I used to own a ThinkPad T21. No complaints here. Outstanding build quality. Very portable.

We have a large number of them at work. They have not been all smooth sailing. While weight and portability are not bad, we've been having a number of problems with multiple units with hard drives. Maybe we have a bad batch or something.

AndyHui -

Are the Hard Drives IBM made? Or are they made by another company? Thanks.

They were a mix of IBM and Hitachi (which are effectively one hard drive company now anyway).

hmm... Now, if I buy a different harddrive, should I be worried? I've heard of bad IMB HDDs, but not laptops.
