Used car, factory warranty still applies?

Hey guys,

I was wondering: If you purchase a used car that's still within the time/mileage for the factory warranty, does it transfer to the new owner? Specifically I'm wondering about Nissan, but I wonder how other manufacturers handle this as well?

Thanks for any info/experience!

Yep, with a couple of exceptions.
The Hyundai/Kia 100k mile thing is only good for the first owner, as were similar deals with Chrysler products.

AFAIK the basic 3/36 or whatever stays with the car until 3 years or 36,000 miles no matter what unless it is used as a commercial vehicle.

Aren't the 100K warranties only applied to the powertrain and not everything like a regular 3/36k full warranty?

Thanks guys, that's what I guessed would happen but it's nice to have confirmation. 🙂

As an anecdote I guess it doesn't matter on the Nissan. Test drove a 3.5 Altima tonight, overall the car was nice but the clutch engagement & shifting felt terrible. I really wanted to like the car too... Oh well, the search continues.
