Thanks guys... no gotta do the rest of my homework on this car. :D

get a 60s vintage mustang 'vert... it'll cost a bit less, have much lower insurance (classic car insurance is pretty damned cheap), and people won't assume you're a middle aged man when you're driving around.

Love the Boxster, but buying one in your situation probably isn't the best idea, even for $25K.

The responsible thing to do would be to save your money, either in a retirement fund or towards a down payment on a house (these are appreciating assets rather than depreciating like a car).

Of course, you don't HAVE to do the responsible thing. You can have more fun now, you'll just end up paying for it later.

:)

yep.. if you wanna get beaten by a new turbo Neon don't buy one of those. :D

Don't even try to compare the two :D One is a slutty little piece of rental car trash, the other is pure German sports car which will own the FWD Neon at autocross or in the back roads (typically what a weekend car is used for).

Boxster screams class
Neon (of any variety) screams budget econobox with a crap interior

I didn't compare them you asshat... i simply state in a light to light race the SRT4 is faster.... aww so sad for crappy overrated Boxster.

Since when have Porsche's been stoplight to stoplight cars, ASSHAT?! :D Poor comparison:p

i never compared you moron!
i simply say in a light to light race the SRT4 is faster
you just won't admit your pretty porsche will lose to a "budget econobox" boohoo!!

And as I said, light to light races don't matter with Porsches. It's just that the folks in the little econoboxs always have to ACT like they have something to prove by bounding stoplight to stoplight.

You say that an SRT is faster light to light than a Boxster...I say that the Boxster is better at EVERYTHING else ;)

I'd get a 60's car too.. they can be easily as fast as a Porsche too.... but won't handle quite the same.. some are pretty good for their bulk though.

Its not a real porsche. they aren't even nice... no class.. overrated... I'd take a 350Z over a Boxster anytime, any day.

Hehehe... i know huh... but you see i've been a car freak ever since i was 7... and you don't know how traumatizing it is to see your friends driving new cars after they graduated... even more so when i find out their parents bought it for them. My friend's parents just bought him a G35 with the factory sport package or whatever a month ago... :Q lucky guy eh... $600/month for them... and here he is rolling like a spoiled little bastard... hahaha... ok i'm jealous... but i don't know i just want a car i could have fun with... being a road-racing fan and such. :) We'll see... :D

I've been a car freak since I was a kid as well... I even have a 1:18 diecast car collection. One of my friends bought a G35 a few months ago with everything on it except the nav... another drives a '98 M3... so I think I can sympathize some.

However, I majored in Economics, and that's probably why I drive a Sentra. ;)

My Boss just paid 35K for a '98 Boxter completely loaded so 25K is a good price. Just remember the hidden costs...

You can get a Sweet Corvette for 25K, that will tear the boxster a new one and look good doing it ;)

For those balking at the price of the insurance:

I just got a quote for a 1998 Boxster, and it turns out it's only 100 dollars a year more than I pay for my Golf TDI. ($1600 vs. $1500 /yr)

I'm 25 and have a clean record.
