Used Antec True Power 650 (Semi Modular) PSU. Should I use it for new rig?

I came across a guy on Craigslist selling used PC parts for really cheap and I saw a few things that I needed so I bought them. Among them was an Antec True Power 650 TP-650.

And here is the new rig that I plan to build in the next couple of months or so. (link) This list is subject to change, but only slightly at this point and shouldn't be enough to effect the power requirements. SSD will be carried over from old rig and there will be no storage or optical drives.

The PSU itself looks pretty new and it doesn't seem like it's been used much. It's very clean on the inside without a spec of dust. I wish I could find a manufacture date or something because I really would like to put it to use.

But on the other hand, PSUs are one thing that I don't like to cut corners on so I only go with brands and such that I trust. That being said, I've almost exclusively used Antec because they have never failed me. I have 2 that are no longer in use because the connectors are obsolete, but they work fine after 10+ years.

Then again, I could only expect to make about $35 after seller fees and shipping if I were to sell this on eBay and I kinda don't think it's worth selling at that price.

The most recent reviews on Newegg are from 2011, the earliest ones from 2009. It's about 5 years old, but it may not have been used for 5 years. You could ask the seller to clarify?

It is a good quality unit though, and as long as it hasn't been subjected to particularly high loads for extended periods of time, it should still work fine. The rig you plan on using it with (4790K, GT740) barely exceeds 100 watts, so capacitor aging is a complete non-issue.

I texted him and he said it was in a sever for one year and then replaced with a more powerful version because it needed to run raid 10

If you have it all ready I'd say give it a shot, I have all Antec, mostly older PSU's in my rigs.

The CP-850 has been running great for many years now, in the main rig.

Bought a modular 550 one for my HTPC a while back when I put it together.

I would think it would be very usable.

I doubt you'd have to worry about caps too much on a True Power unit, I'm pretty sure that is one of the Antecs built like a tank.

I'm pretty sure that was a Seasonic based design based on the original M12 design and while not that modern a design it is a solid bronze rated unit and had decent caps, so even if it's old it should still work fine. I've got an original 600 watt Seasonic S12 (basicly a non modular M12) still going after around close to 10 years of mostly 24/7 use.
