Hmmm, that's very interesting. I always suspected that if there was any hope of getting the board to work with Win2K, one of the CPUs would have to be disabled. I just never thought you could do it.

Still, pre-Radeon drivers from ATi really suck.

It's actually not hard to hack the official Maxx drivers to disable one of the Rage128 chips onboard so that the card is effectively treated as a 32MB Rage128 Pro and will then work under Win2k.

I was almost expecting to see the punchline:

Seriously, it makes perfect sense that simply running in Rage128pro mode would do the trick. Why you'd want to is another thing... sell the thing, buy a voodoo3 and make a profit at the same time. :D
