Use XBOX 360 AV cable for standard XBOX?

Quick question...can you use the standard 360 AV cable on the original XBOX. I'm setting up my old XBOX for my girlfriends son, and can't find the AV cable anywhere...but do have a 360 cable at my disposal. I vaguely remember hearing that they were universal a couple of years ago...TIA.

i don't remember the connector on the console being remotely similar, but i could be wrong, it's been quite a while.

Thinking about it, they actually are kinda similar.

This, if you look at some "universal" component cables that support the xbox and xbox360, you'll see they have separate connections for each.
