use router as repeater?

If I have two routers, and one is connected to a broadband line, can i set the second up in another room and use it to extend the wireless range of the first router?

Yep, it can work, but it depends what brand and model your routers are, and whether their firmware supports it.

and
belkin F5D6231-4

Main internet is run off of a 2wire DSL modem + wireless access point/router.


Can both/either of the above routers work in conjunction with the 2wire to extend its range?

most routers won't do it because the company would rather sell you an access point at 2x the price. i doubt the dlink will do it based on my experience with them. the belkin might, i don't have any experience with their routers.
