I wouldn't bother if you're not going to be using games, unless you're obsessed with 2d quality. If you want the highest quality 2d image you can get, they say there is nothing better than Matrox cards.

But it'd be a waste unless you HAVE to have it look "totally perfect", because I can't even tell the difference between the two.

The capabilities of the video unit are plenty good enough. In fact, you'll be surprised about the smooth DVD replay unit in KM400. Whether or not the board maker did a good job on the analog signal quality, well, you'll see ...
