Use laptop screen, as stand alone screen?

Does anyone know if it's possible to use the lcd on a laptop as an input, say to hook the the screen up to a regular computer?

Reason I'm asking, is because I have a new rack setup, and I was thinking of buying a 1u, flip out type screen, but they are 700 + new, so I was wondering it there is anyway to just use the lcd on my laptop as a screen for the kvm, which then goes to all the computers?

Probably not unless you could hack the ribbon cable that runs the screen.

You might have better luck with something like the screen from a Virgin Webplayer, or an Original Ipaq
