Use Laptop LCD on Desktop?

I have a laptop LCD and I was wondering if it would be possible to hook it up to my desktop. What modifications would I have to make and how?

Pretty much not worth it from what I've heard.
Apparently laptop LCDs tend to only support 1 resolution and use gpu scaling to overcome the lack of a dedicated drive controller. I'd assume it's still vga (or dvi though) and that you could make your own cable to connect it, then somehow install the drivers and alter the inf file so the graphics card knows what resolution is supported.
