hey there.
so i wonder.
is it possible to plug my desktop pc into my laptop and use it (the laptop) as a monitor?
from what i've seen, looking rapidly on google, it seems pretty much impossible.
but most information i found dated back like 5-7 years ago.
and you guys know pretty much everything.
:D

so, can i use my laptop as a monitor for my pc?
because i have an old school monitor (not a flat panel lcd cutie thing) and it uses like half of my computer desk. since i bought a laptop, i thought it would be convenient.

my laptop is an Acer Aspire 3050. it's got a ldvcvdv out (can't remember the acronym, but i can plug my laptop on my tv with wires i bought).

my pc has a Geforce 8800 GTS in it.

thanks!

The answer is No.

Laptop screens do not have any signal processing units like VGA or DVI screens have - they get their native data format straight from the laptop's graphics unit, which in turn is specifically configured to do just that.
