Use key from upgrade kit to install Windows XP from full install disk?

Let?s say you have a legit Windows 2000 licence and a non-legit (copy of a legit disk) Windows XP Pro SP2 full install disk, can you buy a Windows XP Pro upgrade (non-full install) and use the key that came with the upgrade to install from the non-legit Windows XP Pro SP2 install disk or do you need to install Windows 2000 and then upgrade using the upgrade disk?

In other words, can I use the key from an XP Pro upgrade kit when installing XP Pro using a full install XP Pro disk?

If you buy WinXP Pro Upgrade, it comes with a disc. Put it in the drive, begin WindowsXP Setup, and wait for it to ask to see a qualifying previous version, then drop in your Win2000 disc so it can verify that you qualify.
