I carry around a Canon A410 with me to take pictures when I travel... I also need a webcam so I can MSN/Yahoo chat with the family when I am away... is there a software that allows me to use my Canon as a high quality webcam?

I realize a decent webcam runs only 20 bucks or so, but I would rather not have another gadget...

Not sure if this will work for the A410 (should)...it works for my A75.

You need to download Cam4you utilities for your correct model... (google)install this.

You need to download Camtasia studio (might need to...*cough* get a copy of this that isnt a demo)..install

You then connect the camera, start cam4you, do remote capture to show the video output on screen...then you start camtasia, use the Live output of the record feature, and capture the video output from Cam4you. This will then be recognized by MSN, yahoo, etc. as a webcam.

:) Any questions, just ask..

It's cheaper just to buy a webcam then to buy the software.
