Use a wedding ring to get women?

Some people are doing this, and I think it's wrong in the right way. Basically, a SINGLE guy would put on a wedding ring, hangs out at bars or popular restaurant at dinner time (to give the appearance of dreading of going home), and woman would strike conversations with the guy.

The guy in question would have a few fabricated stories ready to use, depends on the place and situation, and basically fooling these women into thinking that:
1. The guy is unavailable (which poses a challenge)
2. The guy won't be attached to the fling ;)
3. Whatever other reasons that some women are attracted to married men...

Anyways, some of the guys said that this method do work, much better than hanging out at a bar and projecting the image of a single guy trying to land a deal, or worse, desperate.

Morally, I don't even know where to begin pointing out what is wrong with this. But what do you guys/gals think?

Same thing as lying, so if you think lying to pick up women is wrong then yep..

Some non married women wear wedding or engagement rings so guys will not hit on them

It works like a champ actually. I'm serious.

It's all a game anyway so I see nothing wrong by playing it properly.

I might anyway. I don't have many fans among the moderators. ;)

Who cares if you're deceiving women who are interested in married men?

If I'm not mistaken, I saw in this a movie once...and I actually considered trying it. Sad thing is: I'm not of that age yet :( (only 21)

I have a wedding ring on my finger. I don't have to use it to get women because I already have one. :D

Any female that would get with a married guy for more than conversation deserves to be cheated on herself... The guy in question (had he been looking) should step off....that's just plain disrespectful.

I've pretended my sexuality was questionable (read: gay)to get women. I never told them I was gay, but if you act just a little gay, chicks let their guard down.

Approach this scientifically. Go to different bars over the course of two months. Allocate one-week blocks. Alternate wearing the ring or not for the week. Count the number of women who approach you during each week.

Let N1 = the number of women who approach you while you're wearing the ring; N2= the number of women who approach you while you're not wearing a ring.
Do a hypothesis test to see if N1 > N2 is statistically significant.

Seriously.... it works. It's sad but it works. I've tried it and got laid.
