alright...i'm wasn't sure weather this was the right place to put this topic so i just stuck it here.

i did a search and i didn't find anything either.

has anyone ever used a sony wega as a monitor? i'm thinking since i can get a bigger screen for the price of a computer monitor, i would just do that and buy an adapter and then i wouldn't need a tv tuner card either!

any comments on appearance, quality of picture, etc would be appreciated? is this a good idea?

The WEGA would make a fantastic "secondary display", but IMHO, is ill suited for use as a primary computer display.

The resolution on the wega is not very good, this is true for all tv's.

Even a nice Aperature Grill WEGA TV display is no match for the resolution of even an average computer display. Text handling in an NTSC display is poor at best, and only exaggerated on a larger display. While video playback and FPS type gameplay will look great, word processing and web browsing and file handling will be horrible. If you can afford a WEGA, you can afford an inexpensive but nice 17" samsung monitor (for example) to handle primary duties, and use the WEGA as a secondary display for the entertainment duties.
