USC vs VT game... If USC loses, how much will it affect their ranking?

I type this as USC just intercepted a VT pass...

Anywho...does this game really count for anything? And if USC somehow ends up losing how negatively would it impact their ranking?

EDIT: BTW, behind the scenes is on ESPN2

USC isn't exactly looking all that impressive. VT has shot themselves in the foot with penalities, and Randall can't throw the ball. They haven't been able to stop his scrambling or the option yet, and USC's offense is getting a few luck plays. So far it has been an almost dead even game.

Yeh, the facemask grabbing personal foul against VT that prevented USC from taking a HUGE loss was pretty shady. So far this game has been lacking any real good flow.

VT has been doing a pretty good job, considering USC is ranked #1

Losing #1 AKA Mike Williams certainly doesn't help the USC offense.

I like how ESPN and ABC schedule the US Little League World Series Championships and the USC vs. VT game at the SAME TIME.

I mean, you guys are the same company, schedule them one-after-another. 🙁

VT is playing a hard hitting football game. They are throwing some massive hits on USC players.

Halftime score:

VT: 10
USC: 7

Im someone that feels every loss counts no matter when they come, but how the NCAA works a loss early in the season doesnt hurt all that much in the long run.

I like seeing this behind-the-scenes stuff, I enjoyed it when they did it with SC on ESPN and then BTS on ESPN2. other than that, just got home to see the game...and to my surprise, dem Trojans be losin.

VaTech isn't a pansy Pac 10 team...Welcome to playing a real opponent, USC

Baby Vick isn't playing either, I think that's a bigger hit then Mike Williams not playing.

I hope it knocks them all the way out of the top 20

Randall is going off...Leinart...shmeinart, Heisman frontrunner my ass... 🙂

Randall 8-15 110 yards passing 110 yards rushing

Leinart 11-20 116 yards passing 7 yards rushing

VT is getting dicked in calls. First that facemasking, then the weak offensive pass interference call that would have been a first and goal.

Yeah, look how that just fvcked VT. They probably would have gotten points, but not USC has scored.

Guess the officials want them in the Orange Bowl

yeah i'm sure that's it.

oh brother...

Some of you USC fans are delusional. The only reason you aren't down right now is because of a terrible PI call. You're lucky to be up by one, and I say lucky, because USC hasn't played like a Top 10 team at all. USC was supposed to win by 17 to cover the spread, and they are no were close to that. They are playing against a team that was predicted to barely have a winning record. Can anyone say Cal from last year?
