Nothing out of the norm, we all knew USC would lose one of their 3 tough games coming up. Oregon State wasn't one of them. ;)

Anyhow, it just punctuates a WVU/Ohio State championship a little earlier. WVU@Louisville Thursday night, game of the year in college football (other than OSU/Michigan).

WVU has little to zero chance of playing for a title in my lifetime.
So if they go undefeated, let's bet $10 paypal champ. Auburn barely won their game today, they will be lucky to pull ahead. Once WVU dismantles Louisville they will blow past [insert overrated one loss team here] into the #3 spot.

In other news, Rice (Rutgers) or Slaton to challenge Troy Smith for the Heisman?

BCS rankings don't matter how much you win your game by.

Sure, 10 dollars it is. Let's take the undefeated qualifer away though. This is a bet that they play in the title game period.

Looks like you already bet with the qualifier on there, based on KLin's quick quoting :)

The problem with that is that if WVU loses one game he's off the hook, so it is a win-win for him. I was going off his original idea to bet based on WVU playing for the title.

If you feel "I need to be held" to what he added then so be it, but it wasn't what he orginally said. I don't really give a fvck, because anyone that follows the BCS knows that many things have to occur for a team to get into the game.
Say what you want about what I originally said, but you know what I meant. WVU, if undefeated, will play in the National Championship and you said they wouldn't. Thanks for taking the friendly bet, we'll see what happens.

Too bad you aren't classy enough to agree to what the bet actually was. Fine. If you are scared that you might lose then I will take the bet in the modified form. It isn't the first time that someone got scared and tried to welsh on a bet. You know exactly what I said -- that WVU won't play for a title this year. Now you are trying to make it about betting if they go undefeated or not. Fine. I've got enough class to agree to that even though I immediately edited once I read what you added from your first post.

Can't wait until I collect my money! :)

and you said they wouldn't.

Fvcking liar. I said they wouldn't play for a title in my lifetime. They won't either. The IQ in Morgantown drops with each subsequent victory, and I'm beyond shocked that the entire campus hasn't burnt down yet. Where else do a bunch of rednecks burn furniture on the front porch of a house when their team wins?
Bet's done, stop whining like Alex Rodriguez.

If WVU beat Louisville, then Rutgers beats Louisville and remains undefeated, and then undefeated WVU and Rutgers play then WVU's SoS will go through the roof when they win. Then no analyst will disagree that WVU should play OSU for the national title but we'll see how it plays out, Pitt could also play spoiler to WVU or Louisville as well (doubt it though).

BTW, we burn couches after LOSSES as well as wins. Either way, it's gonna be a party on Grant Ave and Sunnyside. #3 party school in the nation sucka.

There's being a fanboy and then there's complete detachment from reality. You are detached.

No kidding.

The bolded part is especially fun. Why would WVU's strength of schedule go through the roof as a result of a 3-team circle jerk?

Besides, you gotta get out of the basement before you can go through the roof ;)

Pretty big loss here for Cal or ND fans who were banking on steamrolling an undefeated and top 3 ranked USC to get a shot at a national title bid.

Notre Dame schedules enough tough opponents that it's always easy to figure out where they belong in the rankings.

And it's not too huge for Cal because it doesn't really change conference strength. Not only that, Cal has a sexy victory over Oregon State.

Of the things outside of Cal's control, the Bears will get the most help from Tennessee winning out...and USC beating ND.

So WVU is in the basement, enlighten me here. If WVU can beat Louisville when they're undefeated, and if Rutgers can also beat Louisville to stay undefeated and then WVU stomps them why wouldn't WVU's SoS go through the roof? Hell they're already #3, that guarantees they play in the title game vs the winner of OSU/Michigan in this scenario.

Do we have another taker on the same bet ($10) as Mill? You guys could cover half of my beers in Arizona on Jan. 8th if you also agree to take it.
