South Carolina is leading the Mildcats by 26, with 7:15 to go. So far the Gamecocks have blocked 16 UK shots, with Patrick Patterson getting absolutely stymied in the paint.

Darrin Horn (late of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers) has taken Dave Odom's leftovers (picked to finish 5th out of 6 in the SEC East) and has led them into contention for a conference division title. I wonder how many Big Blue fans wish now that when they ran "Ten Loss" Tubby off to Minnesota they had looked a little closer to home for his replacement and left Billy Gillispie back in Tejas...

Don't make me angry.

You won't like me when I'm angry. Yes, the Big Blue Nation are pretty pissed off.

This comes after the Gamecocks beat UK in Rupp earlier this season.

2:27, still a 21 point lead.

This season, you can never tell which VT team will show up. Same thing with the Terrapins (who are leading Duke right now after beating the Tarheels last time out).

The Tigers just caught the Hokies...

Make no mistake about it. Gilliespie is going to get reamed by the fans. I'm a Lou'vul guy myself. But the blue bleeders are vicious and the call for a head on a platter aren't far behind.

Thank god we got Pitino. Think I'll wear my colors tomorrow as I work in Lexington. Just to twist the knife a little bit.

Kentucky and Carolinas take our basketball seriously. Good win for you guys, that makes - what? - 4 really good teams from the state this year?

I hate being a UK fan, because all the other fucktard UK fans are indescribably asinine, and it makes assholes like the OP happy for no reason when UK loses. In a couple of years when South Carolina is back in the bottom of the SEC East with us UK fans, I'm going to call you the Lamecocks.

Pitino's a real class act. UK fans hated him for jumping to the NBA, and hate him now all the more for going to Louisville when he returned to NCAA.

Enjoy yourself tomorrow, but watch your back!!!

Sorry to disappoint, but this particular asshole thinks UK deserves what it gets for hounding Tubby out of town when he couldn't fulfill their excessive expectations every season. He is an excellent coach who deserved better, and I am really happy for his success in Minnesota.

Furthermore, with coach Horn in Columbia, you may have to wait a while for USC to fall back to the SEC cellar.

First, don't lump all UK fans into the same bucket. 200 loud idiots on the internet does NOT speak for all UK fans. Second, Tubby was/is a great coach, I agree with that. Third, Tubby left, nobody forced him out. It was his decision.

Besides, we are getting what we deserve? A 19-9 record and one game back in the SEC east? OMG, sound the alarms. Some people would have you think the sky is falling in central KY, but don't be so naive.

UK fans are a pretty rabid bunch. Gillispie deserves the criticism.

UK, UCLA, DUKE, UNC - not being in the same league as those season to season just isn't right.

It was Tubby's decision to leave, but the constant abuse from a very vocal group in Lexington certainly helped him make that decision.

As for the sky not falling, I agree that to reasonable fans, UK is just having an off year. No big deal. To the jerks who helped Tubby decide to leave, a mediocre record in a weak SEC East is Chicken Little territory!

I also doubt that Billy G is the coach to lead Big Blue back to the promised land. I could be wrong. It certainly wouldn't be the first time.

To get back to some semblence of a conversation, I kind of doubt this, too. But you gotta give a man at least 4 years to show what he's worth with the players he recruits, otherwise it's just not fair.

From what I've seen this year, it's like he can't get all of our players on the same page game in and game out. Too much reliance on Meeks, he's not going to hit 60% every night. We have too many role players and not enough play makers. They don't play good as a team, which is numero uno on the list. Not sure yet if this can be blamed on Gillispie, or if the players just don't mesh. Shit, it happens.

If you want to see 5 players who completely understand team play, look at the '06 and '07 champion Gators. If you want to see players playing for themselves most of the time, look at the '09 Wildcats.

Good point. Or just look to the UL Cardinals for what team play is this year.

What really sucks is that once again UK will make the dance because they have a good record playing in subpar SEC. They also have their name. They currently have a 61 rpi and a 75 sos, and lost to VMI. But it won't matter, they are Kentucky.

Damn straight.

Let's see where UNC winds up.

Doesn't matter a whole lot. Cardinals will be in the final. And PUKE may lose another one tonight.

I meant they had just tied VT. Also, for the record, I'm a Wolfpack fan living in Upstate SC. Not a Gamecock fan per se, but admiring the coaching job Darrin Horn is doing with a team of somebody else's recruits.

peritusONE: I'm also hoping the jerks who hounded Herb Sendek from Raleigh are drowning in their own bile watching the great season he's having at Arizona State. I hold all such "fans" in equal low regard, not just the ones in Lexington.

Ah, sorry about that. I thought you were implying that Clemson only beat VT during their January 29th meeting because they caught the Hokies on an off night.

Yeah that loss was painful but the Hokies did not have an off night. They just blew it in the second half (Clemson went on a 18-0 run).
Malcolm Delaney went off that night, much like tonight - thanks to Clemson's full court press :)

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I wanted to make sure the OP knows that Kentucky just beat Creighton and is still alive in the NIT, whilst his beloved Cocks were beat in the first round by Davidson.

nice :)

i am a UK fan by alumnus and a UofL fan by proximity, but riddle me this batman:

If i am in Lexington and say i like the cards, i get beat in the head with a brick until i am dead
If i am in Louisville and say I like the cards, i get carried on their shoulders
If I am in Lexington and say I like the cats, i get carried on their shoulders

If I am in Louisville and say i like the cards, yay me
If I am in Louisville and say i like the cats, yay me too?

having lived in Lexington for a few years and now in Louisville for simply a few MONTHS you are right. Lexington has what maybe 3 Louisville fans? Louisville has a 50/50 spread between UK and UofL as far as fans go, and it blows my mind that there are UK fans here
