USB2 ports on front of case

I am going to buy a new case for one of my older systems. The motherboard has USB, but its not USB2.

The case I'm looking at has 2 USB ports on the front, but they are USB2. Will they still work with a older motherboard? (USB 1.1)

Also how do the front mic, etc... jacks usually hook up?

The case I'm looking at was posted in Hot Deals. http://www.newegg.com/app/view...=23&manufactory=BROWSE

As far as I know, there's no hookup difference between the USB types. I have old USB cables that were made before USB 2.0 existed, and they do 2.0 speeds just fine. So those front ports should do just fine.

The front audio cables usually connect to a header set on the motherboard. Check your motherboard manual for mention of Front Panel Audio connectors.

The audio connections should be outlined in your mobo manual. It has to have support for them or they won't work.

The front USB connections should work, but will only be at USB 1.1 speeds, not 2.0.

How old is this system that you're looking to transplant? Is there a real reason to move it to a new case, or are you doing it just to do it? I can't see spending the money to get a cheap case like that if you don't have a real reason to (wanting to isn't a reason). If you need more room for hard drives and such, that's one thing. Otherwise, just save your money and build up a new system to replace that one. Then you can either give it away to someone, or try and sell it.
