USB2, How can you tell if a product is?

All new computers now have usb 2.0. There are many products still shipping that are usb 1. We know this can be a bottleneck.

How can you tell if a product is usb 2? Many web sites omit any mention if its 2.0 or 1.?

Generally it will say if its usb2 or not, also there would be a laber "hi-spees usb" on the box as well. But as far as the scanner is concerned, its usb 1.1. Im not aware of any usb2 scanners at the moment.

it's a scanner, it doesnt matter. and you can check out the specs at the manufacturer's site. other than that, dahak is correct. however, there are some scanners being advertised as usb2. whether or not it transmits data at speeds beyond 1.1, i have no idea, cuz it's a scanner.

A lot of companies like to advertise their product as "USB 2.0 compatible", which really just means that it's 1.1, but technically it is compatible with a 2.0 port. It's misleading and I don't like it, but I guess they're not technically lying about it.
