USB2 HD Bottleneck

Hello, I have the following USB 2.0 Hard Drive setup and experiencing bottleneck, any ideas?

Bytecc ME-320U2 IDE to USB 2.0 External Enclosure
DiamondMax Plus 8 ATA 133 7200rpm 40 Gig
Maxtor Generic USB 2.0 PCMCIA

Using Quick Bench, I get:

~15mb / sec Read
~10mb / sec Write


With Sandra, I confirmed that my drive is slower than an ATA 100 5400rpm IDE drive
