I'm looking to add some usb 2.0 and firewire ports to my rig... what I want is to get a card the supports both... (like that Siig card at newegg) however, I also noticed that it would be cheaper to buy a USB 2 card and fire wire card separate... however it would take up an additional PCI slot in my computer.. which would be a tight squeeze considering all the other crap I have in there. What you guys think?

combo card for 100 bucks...

or

separate for 60 bucks... but more clutter in the case. Thanks!

or the other option is to wait for combo cards to come down in price... do you think thats going to happen soon?

really depends on your personal configuration!
if you have 2 free pci slots free then go seperate, if not go combo!

If you can wait, wait for the price to come down..
Why? Because you may need that PCI slot in the future, and it's just messier in any case.

thanks for the advice. I think i'm going to wait for combo cards to drop in price... These ports are mainly for future investment anyway...

its just that I haven't bought any new hardware in months....

... and I need my fix now!!

<-calms down and copes with his hardware addiction...:)
