USB2.0 on Antec cases (front)

I just picked up an Antec 1000AMG case and have heard that the connector on the front is USB1.1 and not 2.0. I read somewhere that if you e-mail Antec they will send you a new USB2.0 plug. If this is true, does anyone know the e-mail (or snail mail) address that was mentioned before? Also, is there any visible way to tell if it is 2.0 or 1.1? Such as a logo, or part number, etc...

Thanks
JJ

dunno about your case, but the Sonata is like that. I emailed them saying I had only USB 1.1 and they mailed me out the new front ports. There's suppose to be an extra chip on the USB 2.0 board i think, or the other way around.

The email address is found at their website Antec Website , near the top, mouse cursor over 'Antec Info' then go to 'Contacts'.

Do like I did, hook it up to your mobo and try a USB 2.0 device to see if it works at full speed. I plugged in my external 40x Plextor and burned a few CDrs at 40x to make sure mine was working correctly.

The USB port that they finally sent me was identical to the one that came with the case, the only difference was that the new one allowed me to use a USB 2.0 device while the old one didn't. The only way to try see if it's USB 2.0 compatible or not is to connect a USB 2.0 device.

I e-mailed Antec early this morning and by 10:30am they replied and said that they are sending me an upgrade.

I couldn't test the included USB port, as I am waiting for my motherboard to arrive, curtesy of Intel's retail edge deal (p4 3.0c w/ 865 mobo and WinXP, for only $200!) I will probably ditch that Mobo and get something like the P4C800-E.

Thanks for the help. Thanks lazybum for the e-mail address. I thought about e-mailing that one, but it seemed to simple.

P.S. Antec customer support rocks!
