Hello. I just got a Kodak DC3400 and a SanDisk Reader. There are drivers for both operating systems. Both work fine in Win ME but are quirky in Win2K. The Kodak is detected (and appears in the device manager) but I am unable to access the stored files in Explorer. The SanDisk Reader is also detected (and appears in the device manager) but when I insert a card it disappears and reappears repeatedly and I receive multiple error messages saying that I unplugged a device w/o stopping it. Any idea why these work in Win ME but not Win 2K. I contacted customer support from Kodak and SanDisk but their "fixes" didn't work. Your help will be appreciated. Thanks! :)

System Specs:
Intel D815EEAA
Intel Pentium III 733EB

Intel PRO/100+
IBM DeskStar 75GXP 30GB
Plextor UltraPlex 40max

Remove the USB device in Device Manager then reboot and let Windows 2000 redetect the new hardware again. Don't know if it will work but worth a try. Also, my BIOS has an option to assign an IRQ to the USB... if you have that option, make sure you assign an IRQ to it.

Thank you for replying. :) I tried unistalling/reinstalling several times but it didn't work. I inserted a Picture Card in the Sandisk Drive and tried to access the Drive while it was repeatedly being detected/undetected and I received an I/O error message. :( The IRQ is set to 9 in Windows. There doesn't seem to be a place to set the IRQ in D815's BIOS. Any suggestions?

My roomate owns a DC240 and USB under win2k would not work. No matter what he tried with Kodak they couldn't get it working. Kodak ended up finding out that there was a problem with the DC240 win2k drivers and sent him a free third party usb card reader. I don't have an explanation for your Sandisk not working but I'll get back here with the make of his card reader when I get home.

I've installed the latest BIOS and drivers for the D815 board. ...I'm starting to miss my 440BX-2. I shot an email over to Intel support. Also, I just tried a fresh windows install but it didn't help. :( Thanks for the replies. Keep them coming.

Well I just tried plugging in a USB mouse and the mouse works. The problem seems to only be caused with USB mass storage devices. I've downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Kodak and Sandisk. I'm confused. :frown:

[edit] I guess I spoke to soon. The USB mouse froze and I had to replace it with a PS/2. Maybe I need to RMA the D815. ???? [/edit]
