USB won't detect with via, and fix ends early with an error

I have an abit kt7a-raid motherboard. when i try the usb 1.10 fix, it ends early and says "Severe Registrey key error" Needless to say, none of my usb devices are detected at all. They used to work fine, but I installed windows xp were the usb devices decided to disappear, hated it, and went back to windows me. The usb devices now won't even work since the ""fix" cannot complete! anyone know what to do?
