USB wireless mouse connected via PS/2 adaptor

Would the connection of a USB wireless mouse degrade if plugged to a PC via a PS/2 adaptor? Lets say the PC is a high end machine and used primarily for gaming. Please give hard facts and personal experience as well. Thanks.
