My friend has a dental imaging camera that hooks up to a PC using a USB cable. He would like to convert the setup to wireless. The camera software is set to look for the device on the USB connection. I was wondering if there was any transmitter/receiver combo that would make this work?
The trick is that when the connector is placed into the PC, the PC thinks the camera is connecting, not some other USB thing. So it's almost like a transparent pass-through device that just enables the wireless connection.
We were thinking of the 802.11 or Bluetooth products out there, but I doubt those would work, since the imaging software would not see the camera as connected locally over the USB port.
Any ideas on which products might work?
